"Johnson" was an own son of Smart Chic O Lena who had proven himself in and out of the reining arena. Johnson won the EPRHA open in 2003 and qualified for the USET futures finals in 2001. There is reining and cow blood all over his pedigree!
We only owned Johnson for 3 short years, but he taught us so much in those years. He taught us all what a "true reiner" should ride like. He had a super disposition and was a dream to own. We now have higher expectations on what we want to produce in the horse industry. We have kept several daughters out of Johnson so we will continue to carry on the Smart Chic bloodline in the future.
Deuce is royally bred with champions on top and bottom. His maternal grandsire Mighty Te Go is an AQHA Champion with a NCHA COA. Hig get have easy-going disposition, eye-appeal, cow-sense, and are 90% colored! Deuce has been used for all aspects of ranch work, ranch rodeos, heading, heeling, barrels, and poles.
Everyone in the family has ridden Deuce, including our youngest Sierra, which is an example of the disposition we strive for in our breeding program.
BJ is one of the last sons of the AQHA Champion Docs Sug Brudder (full brother to Docs Sug). Docs Sug Brudder's get have earned more than $1.9 million.
BJ's dam has produced point earners in several different events including one "Top 10" participant at Congress in Trail. He is a big, pretty mover, jet black, and has a super disposition. We have started training him and he is a very quick learner with lots of ability and "try". He has a natural stop and we are excited to get him behind cattle.
